He trained at La Llotja, the Barcelona School of Fine Arts, and in the workshop of Rossend Nobas, while working in the workshop of his father, the metalworker Concordi Gonzàlez. He ran the family workshop from 1897 to 1900, when he sold it.
He acquired prestige in the metalwork field, but he also made furniture, working between 1902 and 1903 with G. Homar, whom he replaced in the workshop of F. Vidal.
