He studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture, qualifying as an architect in 1893. His work, together wit that of S. Güell, represents the expansion of Modernisme across Catalonia.

Deserving of special mention are his plans for the Electra Vilafranquesa building (1901; Dos de Maig, 13-15, Vilafranca del Penedès), which was subsequently modified by S. Güell in 1911, and Casa Jané Alegret (1909; Carrer de la Cort, 28, Vilafranca del Penedès). He also drew up plans for expanding the city of Girona in 1909 and designed various private buildings, such as Casa Franquesa (1901; Santa Clara, 51, Girona).

He moved to Buenos Aires, where he built the Casal de Catalunya (Catalonia Club) of the Centre Català (1928; Catalan Centre, Chacabuco, 855-875, Buenos Aires).
