This small-format show, produced as part of the new arrangement of the museum´s collection, is an exploration of Science and Charity, painted by Picasso in 1897. The canvas is an emblematic work from the artist´s early years. The subject matter falls into the genre of Social Realism that was so prevalent in the more conservative artistic circles of the second half of the nineteenth century and follows the line of works shown at the main art exhibitions of the 1890s.

A documentary in 3D with period images, some of then never published before, that describes the society created by the Art Nouveau movement in Europe at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries.
Produced with the support of the EU's Culture Programme 2000 by the Réseau Art Nouveau Network, the international association of cities and institutions headed by Barcelona City Council, the film is projected simultaneously on to three screens, giving a spectacular effect of depth and perspective in three dimensions. It will be shown in the Carme pavilion during the Open Days at the Hospital de Sant Pau on 24-25 April.
From 26 April onwards, the single-screen version of Art Nouveau and Society can be seen in the projection room at the Information Point for the Barcelona Modernisme Route at the Hospital de Sant Pau.
